 Endowment Fund Administered by the Grand Rapids Community Foundation, this affiliation assures that our Endowment funds are soundly invested to carry out the work of the Mental Health Foundation, now and into the future. Proceeds from the Endowment Fund are used to make grants to other West Michigan mental health agencies on behalf of people who are affected by a serious and persistent mental illness who have a critical need for which there are no other financial resources available. Though mental health agencies in our community provide an excellent network of support services, it is often the most basic of needs which, if supplemented by a grant from the Mental Health Foundation, can bring the sense of security, opportunity or health, so critically needed in the lives of people with mental illness. The Michigan Department of Treasury has credited the Grand Rapids Community Foundation by the Michigan Income Tax Credit. As holder of the Endowment Funds of the Mental Health Foundation, gifts made payable to the Grand Rapids Foundation on behalf of the Mental Health Foundation’s Endowment Fund are also eligible for the tax credit. Additionally, donations to the Endowment Fund of the Mental Health Foundation of West Michigan are deductible on your Federal tax return. |
